The War of the Worlds (Oct 28, 2000)

In this program it’s a special Halloween treat. A classic radio thriller centered around an alien invasion from the planet Mars which begins on a farm in Grover’s Mill New Jersey. The invasion spreads swiftly and surely and within the hour it will become complete. Dramatized in the style of breaking news reports and live on the spot remotes, newspapers of the day reported that millions of listeners mistook the original drama as an actual news broadcast causing mass hysteria.   While many modern historians believe that the earlier claims were largely exaggerated and basically a myth, in any event such does not dampen our enthusiasm in presenting this venerable classic performed live at the Seattle Museum of Flight by an esteemed cast for the Radio Enthusiasts of Puget Sound.

Now, let the invasion begin! . . REPS PRESENTS , Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds.
